Kinesiology major Chuck Ballard plans to work as a rehab technician while applying to rehabilitation programs at the Mayo School of Health Sciences in Rochester, Minn.
This summer Megan Blankenship, an English major, will be a campground host at Hebo Lake Campground in the Siuslaw National Forest in Oregon. The job is a terrific opportunity to unplug, set around the campfire and write poetry.
Micah Borges, a communications disorders major, plans to continue research under his faculty mentor, Fran Hagstrom, on the relationship between ADD and gaming, as a master’s student in rehabilitation counseling at the U of A.
Computer science/computer engineering major Levi Bucao plans to sharpen his technical skills as a junior software developer. Eventually he plans to pursue a graduate degree in computer science.
Poultry Science major Kristen Byrne plans to start graduate work under faculty mentor Gisela Erf at the U of A this fall, after completing a summer internship at Cobb-Vantress, an international poultry breeding company based in Siloam Springs, Ark.
History major Lacey Carnahan has been accepted into the College Student Development Program at Oklahoma State University.
Hannah Henson, a science and biochemistry major/anthropology minor, will attend UAMS in the fall.
Melissa Hinds, a finance major with accounting and Spanish minors, is heading for Austin, Texas next fall, where she’ll begin graduate studies in accounting at the University of Texas.
Architecture major Nick Pierce plans to work at an architecture firm in Bentonville, Ark.
Stuart Shirrell, a math major/economics minor, will be running a science lab at a boarding school for orphans of genocide in rural Rwanda.
Elizabeth Templeton, a biology major/math minor, wants to pursue a career in zoological research. This summer she will be working with horses and teaching children to ride at a camp in Texas.
Andrew Walchuk earned majors in International Relations/European Studies/Political Science/Spanish and minors in Middle East Studies, Arabic and Economics (he completed approximately 220 hours!). Next fall, he’ll take a break from his studies; he’s going to Spain on a Fulbright Scholarship to teach at a high school in Madrid.
