On Campus: First Harvest

Broccoli and cucumbers in a basket

Honors College pre-med student Emily Crossfield has led the cross-campus effort to site and plant a community garden on campus. On June 7, Emmy and Jonathan McArthur, a horticulture major who is managing volunteer labor in the garden this summer, met to harvest broccoli, cucumbers, jalapenos, sage, Thai basil, and sweet basil. All of the fresh produce was donated to the Full Circle Campus Food Pantry, which serves students and staff facing food insecurity.
